For Oil and Gas Technologist
Mr. Decatur has 35 years of experience in oil and gas exploration and development. Currently he is an independent consultant, and has worked in that capacity for a variety of companies including: Anadarko, Chevron, Talisman, BP, BHP, Devon, and a number of other small independent oil and gas Companies. Prior to becoming a consultant, he spent 25 years working for Amoco and BP in a variety of technical and management positions involving geoscience and engineering. He has extensive experience in the onshore U.S., Gulf of Mexico, North Sea, and Middle East, and served as Senior Coordinator for Amoco’s Worldwide E&P Planning Group. His last position at BP was managing the Subsurface Deployment and Development Network, which included all of BP’s U.S. geoscientists, reservoir engineers, petroleum engineers, and technologists. He has published numerous articles on petroleum geology and was a finalist for the BP Corporate Helios award for his leadership role in developing Virtual Prospect. Steve also received a gold medal in Schlumberger’s Global Technology Award for this pioneering work. Steve holds a BS in Psychology from Westminster College, and an MS in Geology from Kent State University. He also completed the Executive Training Program at Indiana University.
Bill Marshall graduated from Queen’s University in Southern Ontario in 1971 with an Engineering Degree specializing in Mathematics. He then worked for Amoco as a geophysicist for 28 years. In Canada he had assignments in the Canadian Thrust Belt, Southwestern Ontario, and Alberta where he pioneered the use of bright spots to prospect for shallow gas in Eastern Alberta. In the US he worked on the Louisiana Gulf Coast as well as both the shelf and deep water in the Gulf of Mexico including working on the team that drilled the first sub-salt well. Internationally he worked the thrust belt in Pakistan as well as offshore Brazil and Trinidad.
During 13 years as a Geophysical Consultant he has worked West Texas, Louisiana Gulf Coast, offshore Tunisia, Onshore Brazil and South Texas in both exploration and exploitation roles.
Hector F. San-Martin
Mr. San-Martin has over 35 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry. He is an AAPG Board Certified Petroleum Geologist and a Licensed Professional Geoscientist in Texas. Currently he is based in Houston, Texas serving as a Sr. Geoscience Advisor with Harvest Natural Resources Inc, for an international project offshore Gabon, West Africa. In his extensive international experience he has worked with Ecuadorian Geological Survey, Texaco, Tenneco-British Gas, Halliburton, Andrews Group International-Core Lab, Petronas Carigali and El Paso E&P at locations in Ecuador, Argentina, Mexico, Malaysia and U.S.A. During his term with Petronas Carigali he served as a Trainer/ Mentor and Team Lead in New Ventures Evaluation and 3D Reservoir Modeling. In his early years with Tenneco-British Gas he worked as a Senior Geologist, Chief Geologist and Exploitation Manager in diverse Exploration and Production projects involving New Ventures Evaluation, Secondary Recovery projects and Reactivation of Mature fields. He is also licensed with the Society of Independent Petroleum Earth Scientists (SIPES) and is a Member of AAPG, SEG, SPE, HGS, GSH, and GCSSEPM.
Ms. Sultana holds a BS in Computer Science from University of Houston , and a Reservoir Engineering Certificate from Texas A & M. She serves as a mentor to people who want to began or transition into a career in Oil and Gas Industry. She has experience as a Technologist in various disciplines of Energy Industry such as Reservoir, Production, Geology and Geophysics.
